It's a Soul Spectacular at Bridge Street Live when Blues legend James Montgomery joins VT's finest Soul/Blues band following a set from The Mighty Soul Drivers, CT's keepers of the Memphis Soul flame!
When Blues legend James Montgomery plays the harmonica, he “brings it on home”. Whether it’s recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman, or fronting his hot band of thirty years, Montgomery plays with authority. James continues to be a vital presence in Blues as one of the most dynamic performers on the scene. Expect some real fireworks when he joins the Dave Keller Band on the Bridge Street Live stage!
Dave Keller is one of the finest Soul and Blues men of his generation. He is the 2012 winner of the Best Self-Produced CD award at the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN. About.com recently said, "Dave Keller is gonna be huge!," and it's starting to seem that way.
In 2009, after being discovered by legendary guitarist Ronnie Earl, Keller appeared as a singer and co-writer on Earl's BMA-nominated CD, 'Living In the Light'. In Oct. 2011, Keller released his latest gem: 'Where I'm Coming From'. In addition to winning the IBC award, the CD reached #2 on B.B. King's Bluesville, Sirius/XM radio, for May 2012. In October 2013 he followed that up with 'Soul Changes' featuring six new original tracks recorded in Memphis with the legendary Hi rhythm section.
CT's own Mighty Soul Drivers bring the classic Soul sounds of Memphis, Muscle Shoals, and points South to the hills of New England. The Mighty Soul Drivers take their inspiration from the giants of Southern Soul - O.V. Wright, Percy Sledge, Otis Redding, and more, and combine that with contemporary tunes written in the classic style. The Mighty Soul Drivers turn every venue they play into a Soul dance party!
