Truck Stop Troubadours: A Tribute to Waylon Jennings & Outlaw Country

Saturday August 23, 2014 @ 8:00 PM

When it comes to The Outlaw Sound and Movement in Country Music one name stands tall above all others, and that name is Waylon Jennings. Waylon bucked the system by refusing to follow the Nashville Establishment and make music his way. His way broke down walls and left a catalog of some of the best known Country songs including hits like "Good Hearted Women", "Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys", "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line" and the Number 1 TV Theme "Good Ole Boys" from the Dukes Of Hazard. Along with Waylon and what made him and his sound unique was his instance of using his band in the studio instead of the same studio players that made up most records out of Nashville. The sound of his band is raw and live even on recordings and for any fan of pure music, it is undeniable. Along with his sounds was Waylon's swagger and stage persona, his dark aviator glasses, leather vest, black hat of an outlaw and his signature leather tooled Telecaster as his six shooter.

With this full band tribute to Waylon Jennings people will be able to relive or see for the first time the power and emotion of what was a Waylon show. The Cut time beat that was a staple of his sound along with the undeniable Bass lines and the Steel Guitar sounds of people like the late great Ralph Mooney and of course the Phase 90 Sound of Waylon's Tele. These elements topped off with the Grizzled Baritone of his voice singing some of the most honest lyrics ever put on tape. Any fan of music will be entertained and blessed to have seen this show.
