Comedy Night: Mike Speirs & Ben Hague

Friday December 12, 2014 @ 8:00 PM

Mike Speirs is a very funny NYC based comedian whose likeability and storytelling ability allows him to connect with any audience. On stage Mike examines who he is, what he was, and who he hopes to become. Now in his mid 30's, Mike is coming to grips with being a full fledged adult. Whether he is reminiscing about his days as a heavy drinking party boy, discussing the joy and pain that was his career as a public school teacher, or lamenting over his failure with the fairer sex and inability to recapture the slender physique he never had, Mike's act is fresh, honest, and very funny.

Here begins our journey into the slightly twisted mind of Ben Hague, one of the hottest young talents on the comedy scene today. Always looking to be the center of attention, and born with the gift of gab (often funny gab), Ben decided to start a career path in the business of show. After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, he began his comedy career at the age of 21 in Los Angeles. Ben's first stand-up performance was at the world famous Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard. Since then, has performed on National Television to more than 3.1 million viewers on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS! Over the course of his 9 year career he has shared the stage with such stars as Dane Cook, Dave Attel, Louis CK, Robert Klein, Jeffrey Ross, Gilbert Gottfried and many others. Ben was a finalist in the Orange County Laff Down and Orange County California's funniest person 2004 & 2005, respectively. Closer to home, Ben recently won the Catch A "New" Rising Star competition in his home state of Rhode Island. He headlines comedy clubs throughout the US, and has performed at over 75 Colleges nationally.

In 2009 Ben won a spot on FOX Providence's The Rhode Show. Since he joined the show's ratings jumped in 2010, and Ben became the staple of the show. He fit in perfectly as the funny voice of reason that you don't mind waking up to. He then moved on to the #1 radio show in Providence, and was hired as the hilarious voice on the "Giovanni and Kim Show" for 92.3 WPRO FM. Ben now currently makes his home in New York City and performs at clubs all across town as well as headlines all over the country. His debut CD "Avoid the Wet Spot" can be found at benhague.com

Deep down he wishes he could juggle, speak to dolphins, and have X-ray vision. Hague has also been overheard at bar's telling women he wrote and produced the soundtrack to Mama Mia.
