Grammy-Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix, of Woodstock, NY, came into existence preparing songs for Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame group The Band, who Professor Louie collaborated with for over fifteen years. They are also the backing group for solo albums by Rick Danko, Levon Helm, and Garth Hudson.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix started touring and recording their own music in 2001. They have eight studio albums and two live recordings on The Woodstock Records label. Woodstock Records released their new recording "Wings On Fire" on CD and 180 Gram Vinyl to rave reviews. Their release Whispering Pines was nominated for five Grammy's. Professor Louie was inducted into the South Canadian Blues Society Hall Of Fame, as well as his band being inducted into The International Blues Hall Of Fame New York Chapter.

Professor Louie & the Crowmatix have the distinct honor of being the only group to have a live concert recording released by The New York State Museum entitled The Spirit Of Woodstock. Their music is consistently on The Radio Roots Charts and are always getting air play on radio stations across the country.

The band has been featured on syndicated radio shows, Acoustic Cafe, E-Town, Public Radio show Live At the Linda, The Mitch Albom Radio Show, and Woodsongs Radio Hour.

The group continues to perform in concert at premier theaters, clubs, and festivals in The US, Canada, and Europe, playing over 150 shows a year. Their musicianship has enabled them to cross over into different musical genres and perform in concert with Orchestras and Choirs around the world.
