Mike Cobb & The Crevulators

Thursday July 7, 2016 @ 8:00 PM

41 Bridge Street presents Mike Cobb & The Crevulators as part of our Homegrown Thursdays series on Thursday, July 7th at 8 PM!

Originally from Norfolk, CT but now based in Brooklyn, NY, Mike Cobb & The Crevulators play country-blues-rock. Led by guitarist and songwriter Mike Cobb, The Crevulators' Southwestern-flavored rockabilly-sound has made a strong impact on the New York country music scene, and the band plays frequently in NY and New England. Big influences include Bob Dylan & The Band, CCR, The Stones, & Cracker.

The Crevulators name derives its inspiration from the Chevy Chase comedy, Fletch. "It's a made up car part," Cobb told Earvolution. While conceding that the term probably isn't in the movie, Cobb explained that with Fletch-like sincerity that it's a perfectly good reason for being late. "Didn't make it there cause the crevulator broke."
