Wise Old Moon with SixFoxWhiskey

Saturday May 27, 2017 @ 8:00 PM

41 Bridge Street welcomes back WISE OLD MOON on Saturday, May 27th at 8 pm! SixFoxWhiskey will open.

Before recording two full-length albums with Wise Old Moon, songwriter Connor Zane Millican left his hometown of Hartford, CT to travel the expansive American West. Upon his return home, Millican set out to form a band that would pay homage to the long-standing tradition of the folk and Americana music he discovered along his travels. Taking advantage of his proximity to the Hartt School of Music, Millican hired a group of musicians and formed Wise Old Moon in late 2013.

Three years and hundreds of performances later, Wise Old Moon has evolved into a 4-piece touring band comprised of a cast of players from Connecticut including Ian Meadows (The Meadows Brothers) who offers up a gritty twang that has become a staple of the band’s modern take on roots music. Drummer Stephen Cusano (Broca’s Area) brings with him influences of soul, hip hop, and folk rock music, conveying delicate rhythms while contributing a huge sound and energy in a live setting. With the band’s touring bass player Greg Lake, Wise Old Moon travels the U.S. showcasing their distinct brand of roots/rock and Americana.

Wise Old Moon is currently nominated for a New England Music Award in the category of ‘Roots Act of the Year’ and has been featured on WNPR’S Where We Live, No Depression, RedLine Roots, and has performed at some of the most established venues and clubs in the Northeast. Wise Old Moon is currently writing, recording, and road-testing new material for their forthcoming third full-length album.

Opening the show is SixFoxWhiskey, an up and coming rock band out of Boston, MA. With a unique blend of folk and jam rock, they put on an energetic, improvisational show layered with catchy melodies. The band released their debut EP, "For Those Who Need Little," on all major outlets in November of 2016.
