Jeff Przech Album Release Show w/ the Collinsville String Band

Americana singer-songwriter JEFF PRZECH joins us for a special ALBUM RELEASE SHOW w/ special guests, the COLLINSVILLE BAND, on Sunday, April 8th at 6 pm** **Please Note this is an earlier show than usual: doors will open at 5 pm and the show will start right at 6 pm.

For Jeff Przech (‘Presh’), one of the highlights of his new record is the presence of his twelve year old daughter playing Fender Rhodes on the song ‘Checking In.’ “It all starts and ends there, man, with those two," he says, referring to his two young children. “The way I see it, there’s no way I can tell my own children to go after their dreams and do what they love if I don’t do the same thing in my own life.” Both of Przech’s children made cameo appearances on his first record, but having his daughter’s full participation in this new project was, “really a dream come true.” Przech says, “Watching from the control room while my own daughter played a keyboard that’s older than I am on one of my own songs is something I’ll never forget. Now all we I have to do is get her on a gig with me and that’ll be the icing on the cake. And I need to get my boy cracking on that drum kit in the basement.”

While working with his daughter was an incredible experience, equally rewarding was making this record with three great musicians and friends he called The Outfit. Przech's 2015 debut release, "Sounds Like Fresh," was carried by classic songwriting and led by Przech’s deep, soulful vocals and acoustic guitar work. “Jeff Przech & The Outfit” takes the storytelling of the first record and adds some Telecasters, twang and rootsy grit to the songs. The record was recorded live at On Deck Sound Studio in Northwest Connecticut, giving the record the vintage vibe that Przech was looking for. It’s an entertaining ten song ride, with music that straddles the line between Alt Country, Americana, and good old-fashioned rock n' roll. Przech freely admits ‘borrowing’ the name of his backing band from the Jason Isbell/Drive By Truckers song of the same name, and the songs on the record might remind some of Isbell’s work with the 400 Unit, Tom Petty’s work with the Heartbreakers, or B.J. Barham’s work with American Aquarium. Some might even be reminded of Merle Haggard and the Strangers, as guitarist Dennis Fancher’s tasty lead work certainly calls to mind the great Roy Nichols.

Although the new Outfit record is, according to Przech, “the full band, electric record I always heard in my head,” he will be presenting the songs more organically as he travels to support the record. Though he will at times be joined by Fancher to play as a duo, Przech will primarily be hitting the road with just his acoustic guitar and voice, the way the songs were originally born in the first place. Influenced by contemporary artists like Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams, along with classic artists like Kris Kristofferson (his biggest influence) and John Mellencamp, Przech enjoys being a storyteller more than anything else and playing the songs in this way will enable him to connect with people on a much more personal level.

Opening this special Album Release Show is Collinsville String Band, a homegrown bluegrass-inspired band right out of Bridge Street's backyard. Featuring John Turner, Seth Hagymasi, Dave Connelly, Aaron Shaw, and Steve English.
