MUD MORGANFIELD, AWARD-WINNING BLUESMAN and SON OF THE LEGENDARY MUDDY WATERS, will be returning to the Bridge Street Live stage on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 8 PM!

Multi-award-winning artist Mud Morganfield is an established star in the world of Blues music. The eldest son of the legendary Muddy Waters, Larry “Mud” Williams was raised by his mother and often heard the nicknames of “Muddy," “Muddy Jr.,” and “Little Muddy”. But he prefers Mud Morganfield and it is fitting; it is uncanny how much he looks and sounds like his dad.

Brought up surrounded by many of the finest musicians in the Blues, Mud’s singing is firmly in best of traditions of Chicago Blues, but he is also a writer of great new songs and is backed by some of the best musicians playing today. He is acclaimed by both critics and artists, such as Buddy Guy and Jools Holland, for his own musical ability.

Mud’s award-winning album, "Son of the Seventh Son," was launched on Severn Records in 2012 to rave reviews (Blues Magazine's Top 50 blues/rock albums of 2012, about.com's Best Blues Album of 2012, two Blues Blast awards, nominated for Best Album and the Traditional Blues Male Artist categories of the 2013 Blues Foundation Blues Music Awards). In 2014, Mud’s collaboration with Kim Wilson, the album "For Pops: A Tribute to Muddy Waters," attracted more critical acclaim and awards, and went on to win a Blues Music Award in the "Traditional Blues Album" category.

"I tell you what I'm trying not to do," said Mud to the Chicago Tribune in 2016, "I'm trying not to sound like everybody else, except Dad. When you're in this business, you have to look around and find who you are. And, well, listen, man, I got a lot of blues. I came up in the streets on the West Side."

Tickets to see Mud Morganfield at Bridge Street Live are $30 for General Admission and $40 for VIP Reserved (+ fees).
