The Strat-Masters Reborn: A Tribute to Hendrix, Stevie Ray and The Chicago Blues Band

Friday May 31, 2019 @ 8:00 PM

The "STRAT-MASTERS REBORN" is actually two outstanding shows in one, displaying an amazing contrast! First, a blistering Hendrix/Stevie Ray show performed by Young Blues Guitar Phenom and Vocalist, Ryan Newman with Drummer, Mitchell Igneri and Bassist, Tim Leffingwell. Then, an Authentic Chicago Blues Show, again featuring Newman’s Stellar Guitar work, only this time in an authentic Chicago Blues setting featuring Upright and Electric Bassist, Papa Dick Souza, Drummer, Mark Hennessy and Blues Harmonica Master and Vocalist, The Kosher Kid.

Jimi Hendrix was a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who delighted audiences in the 1960s with his outrageous electric guitar playing skills and his experimental sound. In 1969, Hendrix performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival being the last performer to appear in the three-day-plus festival. He opened his set with a rock rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" that amazed the crowds and demonstrated his considerable talents as a musician. Stevie Ray Vaughan bridged the gap between blues and rock like no other artist had since the late '60s. For the next seven years, Stevie Ray was the leading light in American blues, consistently selling out concerts while his albums regularly went gold. With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s.

Newman's electrifying guitar heroics, combined with the powerhouse Rhythm section of Igneri and Leffingwell will take the audience back in time to relive the “mind-blowing” sounds and music of these two iconic Blues-Rock guitar gods, leaving audiences breathless and in utter awe. Then…just when the audience has witnessed Newman’s unparalleled Blues-Rock capabilities, they’ll experience an astounding twist to the show, by seeing and hearing his equally amazing authentic Blues guitar work as part of The Chicago Blues Band, an outstanding, deeply authentic Blues ensemble. Along with Ryan’s exceptional, “from the heart” Blues Guitar work, this line-up includes The Kosher Kid’s Harmonica Mastery and the super soulful, super tight, Chicago Blues and Jump Blues Rhythm section of Hennessy and Souza. The Kosher Kid is also a Harmonica player who plays with Muddy Waters’ oldest son and Chicago Blues Great and Recording Artist, Mud Morganfield.
